Tue, Nov. 23, 2021 10:00am — 11:30am | Earnscleugh
Summerfruit NZ is hosting a meeting to discuss the new regulations the Government is drafting for certified and audited Freshwater Farm Plans (FWFP).
These regulations will set the bar for farm plans across the country, and to meet them, growers will need to show they are managing their environmental risks through a FWFP, and that it aligns with the freshwater vision of the catchment(s) that they grow in.
Chief executive Kate Hellstrom has invited HortNZ chief executive, Nadine Tunley and environment manager, Michelle Sands to the meeting, as well as Meagan Littlejohn from Sustainable Winegrowing NZ (SWNZ).
- Michelle will make a presentation on these regulations and what they will mean for summerfruit and other growers in Central Otago.
- Meagan will provide an overview of how the SWNZ programme operates, requirements in the water focus area, and the potential to use the SWNZ to meet freshwater farm planning requirements.
Kate, Nadine and Michelle are happy to discuss the regulations with attendees following the presentation.
