Summerfruit NZ has prepared an Election Manifesto, which outlines for all political parties - in the lead up to the General Election on 7 November - what the industry needs in terms of policy and regulation to be successful and reach its potential.
'To remain competitive, summerfruit growers need a policy environment that enables rapid innovation, fair cost structures, efficient workforce access, and the confidence and capability to invest,' says Summerfruit NZ Chief Executive, Dean Smith.
'With the right settings, the sector can continue to deliver high-value production, regional employment, and positive health outcomes for New Zealand, while contributing to national horticulture export growth objectives.'
