Unfortunately the Otago Pop Up Job Shop being held in Dunedin on 23 September has been postponed until Thursday, 5 November.
MSD's Mel Warhurst, who is organising the event, sent the following message for growers.
'As we’re sure you’re already aware, the Government has announced the extension of level 2 which means social distancing and large gathering restrictions remain in place.
'We hope you can understand the steps we’re taking to help keep our stall holders and attendees safe and help prevent the further spread of Covid-19.
'We appreciate that a lot of work and planning has gone into this event and sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this this may cause.
'We remain committed to assisting the Dunedin and wider community in finding training and sustainable employment opportunities so have decided to build our virtual online presence.
'We will be using the Otago Pop Up Job Shop Facebook page to promote employment, training and career opportunities. If you would like an interview promoted on the page, please contact me by email to mel.warhurst001@msd.govt.nz
'Thank you for your interest in the Otago Pop Up Job Shop ‘Options 2020’ and for your understanding during these unprecedented times. Again, we are deeply sorry about the postponement of this event.'
Central Otago growers and packhouse operators looking for staff are invited to register for the rescheduled Otago Pop Up Job Shop being held at the Dunedin Centre at 1 Harrop Street. The 'boutique' employment event is now being held on Thursday, 5 November, with the aim to give local employers, recruitment agencies, training providers, etc the opportunity to provide information, support and advice to jobseekers.
Please contact Mel Warhurst with any queries by email or call 029 921 3919.
A similar pop up job shop planned for Queenstown on 10 October, is still going ahead at this stage.
