The Ministry for Primary Industries has reported that there has been a significant drop in the number of brown marmorated stink bug (BMSB) detections at our borders this season. The strict biosecurity requirements for imported cargo established last year have resulted in a 73% reduction in the number of live BMSB detected.
This is a fantastic result and highlights the work the BMSB Council have undertaken in conjunction with MPI and other industries under GIA on behalf of our growers.
