All fruit exported to Japan or Korea must be packaged using specific tape. This tape comes in different colours based on the market and includes wording as required by the importing country.
Packhouse operators must comply with the full tape guidelines, available on the Portal under Export/Compliance Programmes
Do you know how long you’ve had that MPI-approved sealing tape used for exports to Japan and Korea?
The manufacturers warrant the glue on their tape for only two years.
So now is a good time to check your tape, simply check the inside of the roll for the year it was supplied.
Any tape older than two years must be returned to the IVA for destruction.
New tape can be ordered as part of the export registration process, or on the Summerfruit NZ portal via the Store/Product List.
