The Central Otago District Council recently commissioned a report to understand the amount of fruit loss in Central Otago’s horticulture sector. For the terms of the report, fruit loss is fruit that is grown but does not end up being consumed or sold for consumption.
The purpose of the report is to understand how much fruit is lost as a first step to supporting opportunities to reduce fruit loss in the future.
There will be an online presentation of the report's findings on Tuesday, 19 October at 4pm. If you'd like to join the meeting, please click here.
The final report will be available on the CODC website here the week beginning 18 October.
