Congratulations to Stephanie Cavell from NZ Cherry Corp who was awarded the Mack Nicol trophy, by Russell Faulkner, at the 2023 Summerfruit NZ Conference.
Congratulations to Stephanie Cavell for winning the 2023 Mack Nicol Award for Commitment to Excellence. Stephanie, who is NZ Cherry Corp’s sales manager and previously was export programme manager at Seeka, has been driving the NZ Cherry Rescue project, which ensures all NZ Cherry Corp’s waste grade cherries are used in other products.
Mack Nicol is remembered for his expansion of the New Zealand fruit export sector and his encouragement of young people to entering our industry. In recognition of Mack’s contributions, the Mack Nicol Award for Excellence is given to someone who:
- Displays excellence in any area of the summerfruit industry.
- Is currently involved in the industry
- Demonstrates excellence in communications, innovation, and/or pursuit of quality.
- And has contributed to the improvement of the NZ summerfruit industry
