We've been receiving a few queries from people wanting to export summerfruit and we imagine growers have been getting similar queries too. Please remember that any person intending to export apricots, cherries, nectarines, peaches and plums from New Zealand needs to either hold an export licence or a Certificate of Exemption from Export Licencing which are granted by the Horticulture Export Authority.
In addition, any exporter, packhouse or grower intending to export summerfruit in any one season is required to register with Summerfruit NZ for that season. Registration involves completing an export registration application and paying the registration fee to Summerfruit NZ no later than 31 October. Accordingly, registrations for the current season are now closed.
