I hope you all had a great Christmas and managed to get a little time off to spend with family and friends over the busiest time of the season. My last day as Summerfruit NZ’s chief executive is tomorrow and I’d like to take this opportunity to wish you all the best for what has been quite a tricky season and every success for the future.
As the chief executive of a small organisation that represents an industry with so much potential, it’s been a brilliant couple of decades which has given me fantastic lifelong friends and wonderful memories that I will cherish.
While I am looking forward to discovering what the next phase in life will bring me, I will miss working with a great staff and Board and thank them for their support over the years, and especially since I announced my resignation.
I wish Richard Palmer well as he navigates the next few months and I’m sure he will do a great job at the Summerfruit NZ helm over the next six months or so.
And finally a heartfelt thank you to all the growers and people who have contacted me with their kind messages – they mean a great deal to me.
It’s been a pleasure.
Marie
