During our recent grower visits in Hawke's Bay and Central Otago along with conversations with growers in other regions, we’ve put together a summary of the ideas and feedback to date.
It’s clear from those growers we’ve spoken to that this season it will be important for growers to consider all aspects of orchard operations, identifying early on where the season may be challenging or where there is risk of shortages in key inputs such as labour, freight or the possibility of adverse events such as climate change or worldwide disruptions.
Growers have suggested that everyone should take some time to work on the business, not just work in the business, review your situation in terms of minimising risk and managing efficiencies on and off orchard to maximise profitability.
We’ve collated the various thoughts, suggestions and general issues to consider into a list, click here to read or download a copy.
