On Monday 23 May, the Summerfruit NZ team held a SummerGreen meeting in Blenheim. Thank you to all the growers who attended, it was great to see you all there. We covered updates on the most significant areas of work that Summerfruit NZ is undertaking, with the agenda being similar to the recent SummerGreen meeting held in Hawkes Bay. Of note, the team gave updates on A-Lighter-Touch (ALT), the results of the Movento off-label trials held over the summer, the SFFF project into Future Orchard Planting Systems, the Find-A-Pest app, an NZ market update, and an update on the work undertaken so far on Summerfruit NZ’s refresh of our research and development portfolio.
Thanks to Fruitfed Supplies Blenheim for providing the venue and refreshments. Also, thanks to Simon Bishell for hosting a visit to Caythorpe orchard and for providing the SummerGreen meeting with some wine from Caythorpe Family Estate – much appreciated by all!
