The Grocery Supply Code came into force on 28 September 2023, with a transition period to 28 March 2024 for some of its requirements. The code creates new rules for Foodstuffs North Island, Foodstuffs South Island and Woolworths (the regulated grocery retailers) around how they deal with suppliers (including growers who supply to supermarkets directly) and the content of supply agreements.
